WCG Ultimate Gamer

The other day I was watching that show "WCG Ultimate Gamer" on the SyFy network.  I haven't seen much of it because, frankly, I have better things to do with my time.  But from what I saw the competitors on that show were mediocre at best.  It felt so staged, like any other bad reality show.  One of the parts I saw involved some sort of an elimination challenge where two of the competitors had to pick partners and then battle it out in a game of Bad Company 2.  One of the competitors, I think his name was Yaz, is supposed to be some sort of badass at FPS games.  Near as I could tell though he only did marginally better than the others.  And one of the people on the other team was a "rhythm games specialist, i.e Rock Band and DDR...", if that tells you anything at all.  At the end of the match the score was 14-15.  That isn't all that unlikely but, that isn't the only time I've seen one of the competitions in that show end up with a 1 point spread.  The show reeks of BS but, I guess I could be wrong.

First Post

Hi, this is my first blog post so bear with me.  In the coming months I plan to begin hosting small local video game competitions in Corpus Christi, Texas.  Entry fees, cash prizes, big screen TVs,  the works.  I'll be using this blog to document my progress in getting the first competition together, and then eventually to use it to post the outcome of each tournament.  Hopefully I'll even find the time to do some more "traditional" blogging too.

Until next time.
